Cleo is a talented film student at a university in Colorado. Like many aspiring filmmakers, she works with complex editing software with intricate shortcuts that require precise keyboard navigation. However, Cleo also lives with Cerebral Palsy, a condition that affects her fine motor skills and mobility, making traditional keyboard use extremely difficult.
“Clearkeys adaptive keyboard with the keyguard accessory is truly an ingenious product. My daughter Cleo, a film student at our local university in Colorado, has cerebral palsy, which affects her mobility and fine motor skills. She has been struggling with navigating some of the editing programs used in her film studies classes. The process has been frustrating and, at times, seemed impossible. She even failed one of the classes and is now repeating it due to being unable to complete the required projects.”
Everything changed when Cleo’s educational access advisor discovered the Alt ClearKeys keyboard paired with our specially designed Keyguard. This solution improved Cleo’s use of the computer drastically, making sure she could focus more on her studies.
"Upon learning of her laptop navigation and typing struggles using a keyboard, her educational access advisor researched potential solutions and discovered the Clearkeys keyboard and keyguard combination. This has been an absolute game-changer for Cleo. The keyguard prevents unintentional key presses, letting Cleo rest her wrist without inadvertently pushing unwanted keys. The individual keypads are slightly concave, and this inverted keypad design allows her to position her fingertip precisely, significantly improving typing accuracy. Before finding this solution, Cleo often pressed multiple unintended keys on other keyboards, making even the simplest tasks unnecessarily challenging. With the Clearkeys setup, Cleo can now participate in her coursework and focus on her creativity, without the stress of technical barriers holding her back."
